Note:

• Vacancies for Navik (GD) and Navik (DB) are distributed across five zones (North, West, East, South, Central). Separate merit lists will be prepared for each zone.

• Zone-wise vacancy details will be available during registration.

• Candidates from SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy)/EWS categories without reserved vacancies in a zone can apply as unreserved candidates but will not receive age or passing mark relaxations.

Navik (General Duty)

• Class 12th passed with Maths and Physics from a board recognized by the Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE).

Navik (Domestic Branch)

• Class 10th passed from a COBSE-recognized board.

Yantrik

• Option 1: Class 10th passed from a COBSE-recognized board and a 3- or 4-year Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics/Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering approved by AICTE.

• Option 2: Class 10th and 12th passed from a COBSE-recognized board and a 2- or 3-year Diploma in the above disciplines approved by AICTE.

Note: Candidates must fill all subject marks as per their marksheet. Yantrik candidates without an original diploma certificate at Stage-II must bring a provisional certificate, and the original is mandatory at Stage-III.

Exam Pattern

The CGEPT examination consists of a Computer-Based Online Examination (Stage-I) with varying sections based on the post applied for.

Notes:

• Objective-type questions with four options; no negative marking.
• Marks are normalized using a statistical formula to account for different shifts.

Selection Process

The selection process comprises four stages:

Stage-I: Computer-Based Online Examination

• Document Verification: Identity proof, E-admit card, and two passport-size photographs required. SC/ST candidates need additional documents for travel allowance.

• Biometric Recording: Left thumb biometric (or right thumb if not possible); no other fingers accepted. Mehndi/wax may disqualify candidates.

• Written Test: As per the exam pattern above.

Stage-II: Assessment, Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Document Verification, and Medicals

• Basic Identity Check and Biometric Verification: Candidates failing identity checks are disqualified.

• Assessment Test: OMR-based, qualifying in nature.

• Physical Fitness Test (PFT):

  • 1.6 km run in 7 minutes.

  • 20 squat-ups.

  • 10 push-ups.

  • Conducted continuously; any break results in failure.

• Document Verification: All documents (marksheets, identity proof, category certificate, domicile) must match the online application. Validity must extend to 31 July 2026.

• Recruitment Medical Examination: Conducted by authorized medical officers; unfit candidates can appeal at designated military hospitals.

Stage-III: Final Verification and Medicals

Conducted at INS Chilka:

• Aadhaar-based and biometric verification.
• Document verification (same as Stage-II).
• Pre-enrolment medicals (if required based on time gap from Stage-II).
• Submission of additional forms (police verification, character certificate, etc.).

Documents Required:

• Original and photocopies of all documents.
• 30 passport-size photographs and 10 smaller photographs (3.5 cm x 2.5 cm).
• Police verification, parental willingness, and other certificates.

Stage-IV: Final Document Verification

• Original documents submitted at Stage-III are verified through boards/universities/state governments.

• Candidates with falsified documents will be terminated from service.

• Prepared zone-wise for Navik (GD/DB) and all-India for Yantrik based on Stage-I marks, Stage-II qualification, and vacancies.

• Tie-breaking: Higher Section-I marks, then older age.
