Eligibility Criteria For PMIS
The PM Internship Scheme is open to Indian nationals aged 21 to 24 who meet the following educational qualifications:
- High School graduates, or
- Certificate holders from ITI, or
- Diploma holders from Polytechnic Institutes, or
- Degree holders in fields such as BA, BSc, BCom, BCA, BBA, BPharm, etc.
Candidates who are currently employed full-time or are engaged in full-time academic programs are not eligible. However, those enrolled in online or distance education programs may apply.

प्रधानमंत्री इंटर्नशिप योजना भारतीय नागरिकों के लिए है जिनकी आयु 21 से 24 वर्ष है और जो निम्नलिखित शैक्षणिक योग्यताएँ रखते हैं:
- हाई स्कूल पास, या
- आईटीआई से प्रमाण पत्र धारक, या
- पॉलिटेक्निक संस्थानों से डिप्लोमा धारक, या
- बीए, बीएससी, बीकॉम, बीसीए, बीबीए, बीफार्मा आदि जैसे क्षेत्रों में स्नातक डिग्री धारक।
जो उम्मीदवार वर्तमान में पूर्णकालिक रोजगार में हैं या पूर्णकालिक शैक्षिक कार्यक्रमों में नामांकित हैं, वे पात्र नहीं हैं। हालांकि, ऑनलाइन या दूरस्थ शिक्षा कार्यक्रमों में नामांकित उम्मीदवार आवेदन कर सकते हैं।
Disqualification Criteria For PMIS
The following candidates are not eligible to apply:
- Graduates from premier institutions such as IITs, IIMs, National Law Universities, IISER, and others.
- Individuals with higher professional degrees like CA, CMA, CS, MBBS, BDS, MBA, or Master’s degrees.
- Candidates currently participating in any skill development, apprenticeship, or internship programs under central/state government schemes.
- Those who have completed training under National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) or National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS).
- Individuals with family income exceeding ₹8 lakhs or if a family member holds a regular/permanent government position.
अयोग्यता मानदंड
निम्नलिखित उम्मीदवार आवेदन करने के पात्र नहीं हैं:
- आईआईटी, आईआईएम, राष्ट्रीय विधि विश्वविद्यालयों, आईआईएसईआर आदि से स्नातक।
- जिनके पास सीए, सीएमए, सीएस, एमबीबीएस, बीडीएस, एमबीए या मास्टर डिग्री जैसी उच्च पेशेवर योग्यताएँ हैं।
- जो केंद्रीय/राज्य सरकार की योजनाओं के तहत किसी कौशल विकास, प्रशिक्षुता या इंटर्नशिप कार्यक्रम में भाग ले रहे हैं।
- जिन्होंने एनएपीएस या एनएटीएस के तहत प्रशिक्षण पूरा किया हो।
- जिनका पारिवारिक वार्षिक आय ₹8 लाख से अधिक है या यदि परिवार का कोई सदस्य नियमित/स्थायी सरकारी कर्मचारी है।
Financial Support and Benefits of PMIS
One of the most attractive features of the PM Internship Scheme is its Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) model, ensuring transparent and timely financial assistance to all selected interns.

Monthly Stipend: Each intern will receive a stipend of ₹5,000 per month for 12 months. Out of this, ₹500 will be contributed by the company, and ₹4,500 will be transferred directly by the government through DBT.

Incidental Expense Grant: Interns will receive a one-time ₹6,000 grant for incidental expenses at the start of the internship.

Training Costs: All costs associated with training will be borne by the company using its CSR funds.

Insurance Coverage: Interns will be provided insurance coverage under PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and PM Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), with the premium paid by the government.

Implementation and Management
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs will implement the scheme through an online portal: www.pminternship.mca.gov.in. This portal will serve as a centralized platform for the management of the entire internship lifecycle, from applications to monitoring progress.
The portal will also provide details on the participating companies and available opportunities. The government plans to collaborate with companies based on their CSR spending over the last three years, ensuring that only committed organizations are part of the program.
