SSC Delhi Police Constable Driver Recruitment 2025:

The Staff Selection Commission will conduct an open competitive examination for recruitment of Constable (Driver)-Male in Delhi Police as per the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Delhi Police and the Staff Selection Commission. Candidates from all parts of the country will be eligible to apply. The post is not suitable for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) and female candidates. Pay Scale: Level-3 (₹21,700-69,100). Tentative vacancies are provisional and subject to change.

As on closing date (15.10.2025):

• 10+2 (Senior Secondary) passed or equivalent from a recognized Board.
• Should be able to drive heavy vehicles with confidence.
• Valid driving license for Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMV).
• Possess knowledge of maintenance of vehicles.

Note: Learner’s license not accepted. Degrees from Open/Distance Learning recognized if approved by UGC. Incentive for NCC Certificates: ‘C’ – 5%, ‘B’ – 3%, ‘A’ – 2% of max marks. Weightage for RRU Degree/Post Graduate Diploma: Distinction – 5%, First Class – 4%, Second Class – 3%, Pass – 2% of max marks.

21-30 years as on 01-07-2025 (born between 02-07-1995 and 01-07-2004).

• SC/ST: 5 years relaxation
• OBC: 3 years relaxation
• Ex-Servicemen: 3 years after deduction of military service
• Sportsman (UR/EWS/OBC): 5 years

• Departmental Candidates (UR/EWS): Up to 40 years

Selection Process

The recruitment process consists of:

1. Computer Based Examination (CBE)
2. Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PE&MT)
3. Trade Test (Driving)
4. Document Verification (DV)
5. Medical Examination

20 times the vacancies shortlisted for PE&MT/Trade Test based on CBE merit. Final merit based on CBE scores + bonuses. Reserve panel of 15%.

Computer Based Examination (CBE)

Duration: 90 minutes. Negative marking: 0.25 per wrong answer. Languages: English & Hindi. Qualifying marks (normalized): UR/EWS – 40%, SC/ST/OBC – 35%, Others – 30%.

Syllabus for CBE

Part A – General Awareness: Current events, everyday observations, scientific aspects, India & neighbors, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, Scientific Research, etc.

Part B – General Intelligence: Analogies, similarities/differences, space visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding/decoding, etc.

Part C – Numerical Ability: Whole numbers, decimals, fractions, relationships between numbers, fundamental arithmetical operations, percentages, ratio/proportion, square roots, averages, interest, profit/loss, discount, partnership, mixture/allegation, time/distance, time/work, basic algebra, graphs of linear equations, triangle congruence/similarity, circle theorems, tangents, angles, triangle/quadrilaterals, mensuration, etc.

Part D – Road Sense etc.: Questions on road sense, vehicle maintenance, traffic rules/signals, vehicle & environmental pollution (petrol/diesel, CNG vehicles, noise pollution).

Physical Endurance & Measurement Test (PE&MT)

For Male candidates only. Qualifying nature.

3 chances for Long/High Jump. No appeal against disqualification in race/jump.

Physical Measurement

Height: Min 170 cm (relaxable by 5 cm for hill areas, ST, sons of Delhi Police personnel).

Chest: 81-85 cm (min 4 cm expansion, relaxable by 5 cm for hill areas, ST, sons of Delhi Police).

Appeal possible for measurement disqualification.

Trade Test (Qualifying – 150 marks)

Min 50% in each sub-test. Marks not for merit.

Driving License verified for genuineness. Forged licenses lead to legal action.

Document Verification

Bring originals & copies: Matric/10+2 cert, Driving License, Caste cert, Hill cert, ESM docs, Sports cert, NCC, RRU cert, etc. as listed.

Medical Examination

Sound health, no disease/deformity. Vision: Better eye 6/6, worse 6/12 without glasses. No color blindness. Conducted in govt hospitals per rules.

Note: Final result by SSC. RTI/grievances handled by SSC/Delhi Police as per notice.
