  • A copy of part of a Judgment (approximately 500 words) in ENGLISH will be given to candidates.
  • Candidates must reproduce the same on computer in the same format within 15 minutes.
  • Value of each mistake: 1 mistake = 0.200 marks deducted
  • Left-out words and spelling mistakes are treated as full mistakes.
  • Errors in punctuation, bold/italic, justification per line (Left, Right & Centre) are treated as full mistakes.

✍️ Stage I – Part C : Subjective Type Translation Test (अनुवाद परीक्षण)

Type: Subjective (CBT) | Max Marks: 100 | Duration: 15 Minutes | Minimum Qualifying Marks: 50 out of 100

  • Translation of a passage of approximately 250 words given in Shorthand to English on Computer.
  • Passage is taken from Sir Isaac Pitman’s Book.
  • Value of each mistake: 1 mistake = 0.400 marks deducted
  • Left-out words and spelling mistakes are treated as full mistakes.

Important: Part A, Part B, and Part C of Stage I are conducted in a SINGLE SHIFT with a gap of 15 minutes between each part.

AHC PS APS Syllabus 2026 – Stage II : Shorthand Dictation Test

Type: Computer Based Test (CBT) | Max Marks: 200 | Minimum Qualifying Marks: 160 out of 200

Duration: 05 minutes for dictation + 30 minutes for transcription

  • A dictation of a passage in ENGLISH of 500 words (approximately) in 5 minutes will be given.
  • Candidates will take down the dictation in Shorthand and then transcribe the same on computer within 30 minutes.
  • Required speed: English Shorthand – 100 WPM, English Typewriting – 40 WPM.
  • Value of each mistake: 1 mistake = 0.400 marks deducted
  • Left-out words and spelling mistakes = Full mistake.
  • Error in paragraphing and punctuation = Half mistake.

Note: Only top 10 times the number of vacancies per category from Stage I will be shortlisted for Stage II.

AHC PS Syllabus 2026 – Stage III : Interview (साक्षात्कार)

Maximum Marks: 75

  • Only top 3 times the number of vacancies per category (based on combined Stage I + Stage II marks) will be called for Interview.
  • The Final Merit List is prepared on the basis of aggregate marks of Stage I + Stage II + Stage III = 675 Total Marks.
  • In case of a tie, the candidate older in age will be placed higher in the merit list.
  • The merit list shall remain valid for 1 year or until the next selection, whichever is earlier.
